FACING REALITY

I’m sure you realise that we live in a very fragile world and, sometimes, we can forget just how fragile it is. We think the seas and oceans are unbelievably deep and, yes, the deepest waters are over 3 miles or so in depth. But to get some idea what that really is, if you took an orange, dipped it in a big bowl of water and then lifted it clear, the residual water on the skin of the orange would be a good representation of the depth of all of earth’s seas and oceans. Just warm the atmosphere a little and that surplus water will no longer be on the orange. It will have rapidly dried off in another representation of what is now going on! If it was possible to attach an extremely long piece of very thin string to the same orange and hang it from an overhanging crag near the summit of Mount Everest and allow it to descend quite a considerable distance, then that just might represent where we are in the universe today. Suspended in space, with nothing beneath us that we could see clearly, same view above us and not much improvement on either side. Just space, and any view we had of the upper part of Everest would show a very inhospitable environment. If you happened to be a very small germ living on the surface of the orange you would, if you had a mind with which to think, wonder what it all meant. It’s very doubtful however if you would consider for a moment that it had all come about by accident.
There obviously had to be some far superior bacteria that had caused it. It had to be bacteria because it would need a form of life to make life. It would be stretching the imagination a bit far to imagine that Mount Everest had dreamed it all up! It would be obvious to you, even as a lowly germ, that in order to bring you into existence it would have to be something like you only a lot more powerful. It would also be obvious that whatever it was had to be more intelligent than you and it had some kind of purpose. The analogy is so clear that it is with amazement that one finds that there are many, many erstwhile intelligent people in the world today who actually believe a parallel of our rather tall story. The little germ cell sitting on the outside of the orange would be face to face with the realities. These being it couldn’t have been brought into existence by a chunk of granite covered in ice and snow and with little discernible atmosphere. It would then wonder why and how this had happened. Our tiny germ cell would show a lot more intelligence and clear, logical thinking than do those of today’s House of Evolution. Individuals who claim to know everything but in fact know nothing.
As we have said on previous occasions it is the belief and propagation of the fables of Evolution that shares a responsibility for the dreadful state of the world today. If life is simply an accident that occurred during the slippage of one piece of frozen granite against another then there can be no meaning or purpose for life. Or it is as the Russian scientist Oparin had it, that life came about through lightning striking a pool of muddy water laced with various chemicals. The questions as to where the lightning came from, by what law did it strike the chemical soup and by what law was life then created and many other questions are equally ignored by otherwise intelligent people. Questions such as if the life was created by the lightning strike then how did it come to change into the myriad highly complex types of creature, including mankind, that exist today. All the evolutionist can do is to bleat like a sheep that given enough time, etc, etc. It doesn’t matter how much time is given, it is not possible for life, any form of life, to have evolved.
The latest offering is the discovery that a meteorite was capable of providing nitrogen-containing ammonia. The report continues to say that this is “a vital ingredient for the first self-replicating molecules that eventually led to DNA, the molecule at the heart of all life.” The article actually has the heading “How humans began life in outer space.” Why are the evolutionists so surprised! The human body contains a number of chemicals and minerals but all in the right balance to sustain life. A balance that has to be right the first time! It is not to say, however, that there is no such thing as natural selection. The duplicity involved here is the deliberate confusion caused by equating natural selection with evolution. In the bible in the very first book, Genesis, chapter 1 we may read how everything living, from plant life to birds, to fish, to all animals was created to reproduce “after its kind”. In chapter 7 we read of Noah taking into the ark a representative pair of every creature, male and female. This was so that they would then, as God said, replenish the earth. Two males would have been useless. As would two females. This is one of the reasons why the bible eschews homosexuality. There would have otherwise been no possibility of replenishing the earth, or maintaining the population. Homosexuality, maintained, would see an inevitable ageing of the world population and then, the natural development, the ending of all life on earth. Some homosexual couples like to have babies, so they will adopt one, or cause one to be produced by paying a woman to have one through IVF. We have now heard that science has succeeded in “creating a sperm cell” from human skin cells. However, other scientists question as to whether this is a sperm as we know it! Then before the “abolish men” caucus gets excited, it would still be necessary for a Y chromosome before there could be a question of an embryo forming. In any case, apart from the psychological damage to any subsequent child there will still be a reduction in population and an eventual end to all human life on earth.
Returning to Noah, it will not have escaped your notice that, for example, there would have been only one pair of dogs, one male and one female. So how come we have the thousand and one breeds and types of dog we have today! The same, of course, goes for all other animals, cats, horses, cows etc, etc. It’s because there is the inbuilt ability to breed them so that different variations of the animal will be produced. But you don’t end up with an entirely different animal! There was one original pair of dogs, but in time, the facility for the genes to operate in a random fashion, or in a specific one if mankind is doing the breeding leads to a multitude of variations. But however many types of dog, or cat are produced they are still dogs and cats. You might ask “What about the mule?” This is a good question! But consider! The mule is produced by crossing a horse with a donkey – there is a similarity but you cannot mate one mule with another mule to produce a mule. It is impossible. Why? Because it filled a gap in creation which was not covered by a horse or by a donkey. Mankind needed a strong and powerful pack animal, one which could also haul very heavy loads. But constant reproduction was not needed.
What about human beings! Basically, the design for mankind needed to produce three distinct races in order that the different climatic zones on a round earth could be populated. Physically all have the same basic design as the needs and requirements are also the same. For this reason a black man can mate with a white woman, or vice versa, but the children will be neither one colour or the other! They will be a mixture! It will be brown. God created the races with the same destiny hence the same basic design but He wanted the three races to maintain their integrity and to learn to get on with one another and to love one another regardless of colour. Unhappily, colour has become an issue in today’s world. If only we could come to see and understand.
Mankind is the pinnacle of the creation and whatever colour, all may eventually be given the ability to live forever in a new world. To be born again but to a non-physical life. Man’s destiny is far and above that for animals, birds and fish. Man’s destiny truly is in the stars. Away from this planet we cannot survive. Man has either to take earth created nourishment with him along with physical protection from the lethal radiation of space, or very quickly die. Whether he finds some traces of ice or even evidence of water, or even certain minerals is quite irrelevant. It proves nothing. And holds out no hope for mankind at this time populating the stars. That is yet future.
Man has to realise that his future lies in not being limited by the physical. But he is chained to this planet apart from an occasional excursion to the moon or maybe Mars. In the end, Man will be defeated by the sheer distances involved and the necessity to take supplies with him. He may well be able to develop processes by which food can be manufactured by some atomic process as in television’s Star Trek. But he will still need a breathable atmosphere, no harmful cosmic radiation, an optimum force of gravity, something which he cannot achieve no matter how much he tries. Then the sheer distances will defeat mankind every time. We still talk about this or that galaxy being so many million light years away. When you consider that statement you have to shake your head in disbelief that scientists could be so unscientific!
The truth is wonderful and exciting. The bible clearly tells us that God’s word is truth and in the gospel of John in chapter 8 that it, the truth, will make us free. In Ephesians chapter 4 it tells us that there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism. Being honest with God’s word leads to only one conclusion, not a multiplicity of them. One cannot make the bible say what we want to believe. It shows us that death is not the end, there is a resurrection. For most people resurrection will be a return to physical life, to a restored, renewed world where we shall see our loved ones again and for the first time we shall come to know the true God and His word. There will be the opportunity of repentance, of baptism and then the receiving of God’s spirit and then eternal life. But we are not going to sit around on a cloud all day playing harps! There’s a universe to be built and of its extent there is no end. Satan and his demons, along with those human beings who knowingly reject what God offers, will have ceased to exist. This planet, our home planet of Earth, is to be the centre of the universe. It is to be where God Himself will be. As it says in the book of Revelation in your bible, chapter 21 “God Himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
